SFA Applicant Information

The SFA Applicant Information page allows you to enter information about the individual submitting the Special Flight Authorization application.

You access this page in any of the following ways:

Special Note: The data on this page displays as read only when the application status is canceled, closed or withdrawn.

At the top of the FAA header, Help, User Guide, and References links are displayed in the right corner along with a Signout link. The Help link opens page-specific help for the current page. The User Guide link opens the Airworthiness Certification Applicant User Guide, which is the secondary resource for Airworthiness Certification Applicant Portal application user procedures and reference information. The References link opens a page allowing you to access FAA reference data relevant to airworthiness certification. The Signout link logs you out of the application and takes you to the System Use Notice. At the bottom of the FAA header, your name displays right justified along with a Person icon (); clicking the icon displays a pop-up screen with a list of the roles assigned to you.

The Airworthiness Certification application navigation top-level menu displays just below the title bar and contains the links that provide access to the Airworthiness Certification commands, or functions: My AWC, Search, Reports and My Profile.

In addition, below the application data block is a tabbed third-tier menu with links to the various pages in the application process. The tabs are color coded indicating whether the pages under that tab are complete (green), in progress (yellow) or not yet started (red). Pages with required fields are marked with icons indicating completed (), in progress (), or not yet started ().

The third-tier menu has the following categories: Aircraft Info, Owner/Applicant Info, Aircraft Operations, External Document, and Review/Submit. Each category has links to the relevant various pages in the application on which you are working.

The Applicant Information page name appears below the third-tier menu.

Enter the Applicant's Information

To enter the applicant's information, follow the steps below. Required fields are marked with a red asterisk (*).

  1. Enter the name of the company in the Company Name text box.
  2. Enter the first name of the applicant in the First Name text box.
  3. Enter the middle name of the applicant in the Middle Name text box.
  4. Enter the last name of the applicant in the Last Name text box.
  5. If the owner is a dealer, select the Yes radio button for the Is Dealer line; if not, select the No radio button.
  6. Enter the applicant's phone number in the Phone text box.
  7. Enter the applicant's email address in the Email text box.

Enter the Applicant's Address

To enter the applicant's address information, follow the steps below. Required fields are marked with a red asterisk (*).

  1. Enter the applicant's street address in the Address1 text box.
  2. Enter, if needed, any additional street or office information in the Address2 text box.
  3. Enter the applicant's city in the City text box.
  4. Enter the applicant's state in the State text box.
  5. Enter the applicant's zip code in the Zip Code text box.
  6. Select the applicant's country from the Country drop-down list. United States is the default value.
  7. Click Save to save your entries and remain on the page, or click Save & Next to save your entries and move to the next page, Operating Purpose; see Operating Purpose. Click Reset before clicking Save to clear your entries.
