SFP Production Flight Testing

You use the SFP Production Flight Testing page to enter information about the aircraft production, including the manufacturer name, address, production basis, certificate number and number of certificates required. You access this page, after completing the SFP Questionnaire page, in any of the following fashions if and only if you are applying for a Special Flight Permit and indicated on the SFP Questionnaire page that the permit is for a production flight test..

Special Note: The data on this page displays as read only when the application status is canceled, closed or withdrawn.

At the top of the FAA header, Help, User Guide, and References links are displayed in the right corner along with a Signout link. The Help link opens page-specific help for the current page. The User Guide link opens the Airworthiness Certification Applicant User Guide, which is the secondary resource for Airworthiness Certification Applicant Portal application user procedures and reference information. The References link opens a page allowing you to access FAA reference data relevant to Airworthiness Certification. The Signout link logs you out of the application and takes you to the System Use Notice. At the bottom of the FAA header, your name displays right justified along with a Person icon (); clicking the icon displays a pop-up screen with a list of the roles assigned to you.

The Airworthiness Certification application navigation top-level menu bar displays just below the title bar and contains the links that provide access to the Airworthiness Certification commands, or functions: My AWC, Search, Reports and My Profile.

Below the application data tabs display with links to the various pages in the application process. The tabs are color coded indicating whether the pages under that tab are complete (green), in progress (yellow) or not yet started (red). Those pages with required fields are marked with icons indicating completed (), in progress (), or not yet started ().

The SFP Airworthiness Certificate section appears below the registration information block. To specify the type of Special Flight Airworthiness Certificate, follow the steps below.

Enter Production Flight Test information

To complete the information about the production flight test, follow the steps below. Fields marked with a red asterisk (*) are required.

Note: If the address inputted in Aircraft Location is the same, check the box next the statement "Check this box to copy the Facility Name and Address details to the Manufacturer page" and skip steps 2-6.

  1. Enter the name of the aircraft manufacturer in the Manufacturer Name text box.
  2. Enter the street address of the manufacturer in the Address (1) and Address (2) text box.
  3. Enter the city of the manufacturer in the City text box.
  4. Select the state of the manufacturer from the State drop-down list.
  5. Enter the zip code of the manufacturer in the Zip Code text box.
  1. Select the country of the manufacturer from the Country drop-down list.
  1. Select the production basis from the Production Basis drop-down list. The Production basis drop-down list includes the following choices:
  1. If Applicable Consensus Standard is selected, the Applicable Consensus Standard drop-down list displays. Select one of the options in Applicable Consensus Standard drop-down list. Click on the Applicable Consensus Reference link as a reference tool.
  2. If Production Certificate or Type Certificate is selected, enter the certificate number in the Certificate Number text box.
  3. Enter the quantity of certificates required in the Quantity of Certificates Required text box.
  4. Click Save to save your changes and remain on this page; click Save & Next to proceed to the Document page. Click Reset before clicking save to clear all entries.
