SFP Applicability and Restrictions

For non-production test flights, you use the SFP Applicability and Restrictions page to specify any airworthiness requirements that the flight does not meet or any special restrictions that need to be met to ensure safe operations for the flight. You access this page, in any of the following fashions if and only if you are applying for a Special Flight Permit that is not a production test flight (as specified on the SFP Questionnaire page).

• From the SFP Flight Description and Crew page, after having entered the required information, click Save & Next. The SFP Applicability and Restrictions page displays.
• From the My AWC landing page, select the Special Flight Permits link in the My Applications panel. The Special Flight Permits list at the bottom of the screen displays your current SFP applications. Select the appropriate SFP non-production flight test application by clicking on the Number link. The SFP Questionnaire page displays. Select the Applicability/Restrictions link from the tabbed menu. The SFP Applicability and Restrictions page displays.

Special Note: The data on this page displays as read only when the application status is canceled, closed or withdrawn.

At the top of the FAA header, Help, User Guide, and References links are displayed in the right corner along with a Signout link. The Help link opens page-specific help for the current page. The User Guide link opens the Airworthiness Certification Applicant User Guide, which is the secondary resource for Airworthiness Certification Applicant Portal application user procedures and reference information. The References link opens a page allowing you to access FAA reference data relevant to Airworthiness Certification. The Signout link logs you out of the application and takes you to the System Use Notice. At the bottom of the FAA header, your name displays right justified along with a Person icon (); clicking the icon displays a pop-up screen with a list of the roles assigned to you.

The Airworthiness Certification application navigation top-level menu bar displays just below the title bar and contains the links that provide access to the Airworthiness Certification commands, or functions: My AWC, Search, Reports and My Profile.

Below the application data tabs display with links to the various pages in the application process. The tabs are color coded indicating whether the pages under that tab are complete (green), in progress (yellow) or not yet started (red). Those pages with required fields are marked with icons indicating completed (), in progress (), or not yet started ().

The SFP Applicability and Restrictions page name appears below the tabbed menu.

Airworthiness Unmet Requirements and Restrictions

To enter any airworthiness requirements not met or restrictions needed for safe operations, follow the steps below. Required fields are marked with a red asterisk (*) on the page.

1. In the "Does not meet the applicable airworthiness requirements as follows" text box, enter any applicable airworthiness requirements that are not met by the aircraft.
2. In the "These restrictions are considered necessary for safe operations" text box, enter any restrictions needed for safe operation of this aircraft.

3. Click Save to save your data entries or Save & Next to save your entries and proceed to the Document page. Click Reset before clicking save to clear all entries.
