SFP Aircraft Description (Non-Production Flight Only)

You use the SFP Aircraft Description page to enter information about the aircraft and owner when applying for a Special Flight Permit for a non-production flight. You access this page, after completing the SFP Questionnaire page, in any of the following fashions if and only if you are applying for a Special Flight Permit for a non-production flight.

Special Note: The data on this page displays as read only when the application status is canceled, closed or withdrawn.

At the top of the FAA header, Help, User Guide, and References links are displayed in the right corner along with a Signout link. The Help link opens page-specific help for the current page. The User Guide link opens the Airworthiness Certification Applicant User Guide, which is the secondary resource for Airworthiness Certification Applicant Portal application user procedures and reference information. The References link opens a page allowing you to access FAA reference data relevant to Airworthiness Certification. The Signout link logs you out of the application and takes you to the System Use Notice. At the bottom of the FAA header, your name displays right justified along with a Person icon (); clicking the icon displays a pop-up screen with a list of the roles assigned to you.

The Airworthiness Certification application navigation top-level menu bar displays just below the title bar and contains the links that provide access to the Airworthiness Certification commands, or functions: My AWC, Search, Reports and My Profile.

Enter the Aircraft Description

To complete the information in the Aircraft Description section, follow the steps below.

  1. In the Registration Mark text box enter at least the first character of the aircraft registration mark. The system displays a list of registration marks starting with the character(s) entered. Select the appropriate registration number from the list.
    1. Once you select the registration mark, the relevant Aircraft Registration fields populate from the AWC database.
  2. To modify the Aircraft Make if necessary, click the Edit button to the right of the Aircraft Make field to render the information editable then enter the first two characters of the aircraft make. Select the appropriate make from the list displayed.
  3. To add or modify the Aircraft Model if necessary, click the Edit button to the right of the Aircraft Model field to render the information editable then enter the first character of the aircraft model. Select the appropriate make from the list displayed.

  4. To modify the Serial Number if necessary, click the Edit button to the right of the Serial Number field to render the information editable then enter the correct serial number.

Enter the Owner Information

Once you select the registration mark, the relevant Owner Information fields populate from the AWC database. These can be modified by clicking the Edit icon () next to each field.

  1. Add or modify as necessary the owner's name in the Name text box.
  1. Add or modify as necessary the owner's street address in the Address1 text box.
  2. Add or modify as necessary any additional street or office information in the Address2 text box.
  3. Add or modify as necessary the owner's city in the City text box.
  4. Add or modify as necessary the owner's state in the State text box.
  5. Add or modify as necessary the owner's 5- or 9-digit zip code in the Zip text box.
  6. Select the owner's country of residence from the Country drop-down list. United States is the default value.
  7. Click Save to save your data entries or Save & Next to save your entries and proceed to the Aircraft Location page.

After the information on this page has been saved, the project information block displays below the top-level menu.

In addition, below this application data block will be tabs with links to the various pages in the application process. The tabs are color coded indicating whether the pages under that tab are complete (green), in progress (yellow) or not yet started (red). Those pages with required fields are marked with icons indicating completed (), in progress (), or not yet started (). The Aircraft Registration page displays the completed icon (). The next step in the SFP-non-LSA certification process is Aircraft Location.
